Mistakes to Avoid When Having Your Office Painted by Professionals

Now that the indoor season has officially arrived in New England, it’s time to get out your list of “To-Do’s” and start working through it. Whether it’s your home or office, Right Track Painting & Sealcoating is here to help. In fact, fall and winter are our busiest months for painting office interiors. Whether you’ve decided to create a whole new look or just want to freshen up the existing paint, there are a few things you should take into consideration.

The following is a list of the 3 most common mistakes to avoid when having your office interior painted by professional painters:

  • NEVER make spur of the moment decisions about colors – probably one of the most common mistakes that owners and managers make when having their offices painted is hastily deciding on the color scheme. Although you may feel you’ve chosen the best tones, it’s best to place a small color swatch on the wall and try it out for 3 or 4 days. Why should you take this approach? Depending on the time in the morning or afternoon, and the sunlight entering your office environment, colors can change. By watching that color swatch during the day you’ll know whether you love or hate it.
  • NEVER go overboard with your color choices – another common mistake is going overboard with the number of color samples to make your choices from. Here’s an example. Let’s say you want to paint your office interior a shade of blue but you’re unsure of which shade to choose. Thus, you go to the paint store and come back with every blue swatch on the rack. While you might think this is the best way to finalize your decision, it will only confuse and overwhelm you. The best thing to do is consider the décor, space, and look you want to achieve. If you aren’t sure about your color choices or how the walls will look, it helps to contact a color expert at the painting service who would be able to assist you.
  • ALWAYS consider your décor and office furniture – when giving your office a cost-effective makeover, new furniture probably won’t be in your budget. In other words, you’ll be using the current furniture for quite a while. That being said, you’ll want to consider choosing colors that will work well with your existing furnishings. So, if your furniture is predominantly dark, you’ll want to go with lighter paint colors, unless you and your employees prefer working in a dreary environment.
